1) Pantheon Desktop Environment
Elementary OS uses its own shell named Pantheon which make your desktop simple and clean in look as well as it consist of transparent top panel with monochrome icons of same color and this DE with Plank at bottom reflects this OS as Mac OS.

Plank is the horizontal bar at the bottom with some featured software icons and it uses the 3d view of icons same as like in Mac OS

Sling shot menu is the default menu system used in Elementary OS which allows some functionality related to application search, drag-and-drop search and also allows to do mathematical calculations without using calculator.
4) Wing panel
Wing panel is the transparent default top panel used in Elementary OS consisting slingshot menu at left, calendar and time at center and some monochrome icons at right. Features of Wing panel is that it goes to opaque and turn into black whenever any running software is maximized.

Gala is a window & composting manager based on libmutter and designed by elementary for use with Pantheon Shell.

5) Midori
Midori is the default web browser used in Elementary OS and it is one of the light weighted web browser which look alike to Safari Web browser
6) Lock Screen
Lock Screen of Elementary OS is pretty unique and awesome which consist of default desktop wall paper in background with some information such as date and time at right side and some white colored monochrome icons at top right corner.
